RFFS Supervisor - Revalidation

Duration: 1 week residential

Who should attend

The RFFS Supervisor – Revalidation Structured Assessment Programme (SAP) is aimed at Watch Commander (or Crew Commander who would deputise for Watch Commander) who have completed a RFFS Supervisor Initial Structured Learning Programme (SLP) within the previous 4 years.

Pre attendance requirements

Due to the physical nature of this course, delegates are required to demonstrate prior to attendance that they have been medically assessed and deemed physically fit and able to undertake all course activities.

Course outline

The content of the SAP is based on the Standards for Competence of Rescue and Fire fighting Service Personnel as detailed in CAP 699, CAA IP-1 and the National Framework for Incident Command. All course content has been cross mapped against the criteria detailed in CAA CAP 699 (AWM 1-7) to ensure that all requirements are met. The SAP has been designed to incorporate a balanced blend of both computer based simulation and practical exercises to provide varying opportunities for assessment of competence.

Aim

The SAP provides delegates with the opportunity to practice their command, control and leadership skills through simulation and application of practical skills.

Objective

The training objectives are aligned to the RFFS Supervisor elements detailed in CAP 699 (AWM 1-7) and to the National Framework for Incident Command.
