Breathing Apparatus Instructor


This qualification consists of 60 Guided Learning Hours.

The training will be provided as a full time course of 9 day nominal duration.

Who should attend

This course is aimed at personnel who are already breathing apparatus wearers and require to be qualified to breathing apparatus instructor level 3 pre-attendance requirements

Delegates should be:

Due to the physical nature of this course, delegates are required to demonstrate prior to attendance that they have been medically assessed and deemed physically fit and able to undertake all course activities.

Course outline

This course is designed for personnel who are responsible for the delivery of breathing apparatus courses/training.

The qualification consists of 2 mandatory units, one of which is a knowledge based unit and the other is knowledge and skills based.

To enable delegates to competently devise and deliver training on the technical aspects and operational use of breathing apparatus.

Learning Outcomes

The qualification has been designed to accredit the knowledge and skills development of learners who are instructing other learners on the use of Breathing Apparatus.
